It is ten times faster than previous versions and support many different high-speed peripherals. It can also provide a docking station for two outputs.
Universal Serial Bus (USB) is main an interface for computers and other electronic devices. USB 3.0 is the third version which adds a new transfer mode known as SuperSpeed that can transfer data up to 625 MB per second. It is known as SuperSpeed+. It is ten times faster than the previous USB 2.0 version. It also increases the bandwidth adding two unidirectional paths, one to receive data and another to transmit. This is a major improvement over one direction that came with USB 2.0. Other advances include power management, improved bus utilization and rotating media support.
An improvement to USB 3.0 known as USB 3.1 was introduced in July 2013 which increase the data transfer speed up to 1.25 GB per second.
